In 1989, ST Dupont created a rather unusual for the time and radically different concept - Limited Edition lighters series. The series consisted of four Chinese Lacquered Line 2 lighters with Limited production numbers of only 1000 pieces for each style. The styles were "Vive la Liberte"(beige with rose gold trim and a man with a flag), "Liberte"(pale green with cannon and flag), "King Louis XVI"(blue with a sword, crown and red hat at the end of the sword) and "La Republique Francaise"(orange). All four lighters were colorfully decorated and accented in rose gold or yellow gold trims. They all had some symbols of the French Revolutions of the 18th Century 1789 - 1790. The word "Museee" is imprinted on the bottom of each lighter along with its unique serial number. Today these rare lighters represent the very beginning of the collectable ST Dupont lighters that later followed by the world - renowned masterpieces such as Maharadjah, Nuevo Mundo, Taj Mahal, Pharaoh, Versailles,
and many others.
